China National Intellectural Property Administration recently issued a decision on awarding the 22nd China Patent Award. The invention patent of "a method of separation and purification of delphinin-3-O Mulberry diglycoside and its hypoglycemic application" by Professor Chen Wei's team in our college was awarded the Chinese Patent Excellence Award.

Aiming at the technical bottlenecks of difficult separation and purification of anthocyanins from natural sources, low preparation amount and low purity, the patented technology for the first time uses solid phase extraction technology to replace the traditional liquid chromatography separation technology to achieve the mass preparation of high purity delphinin-3-O mulberry diglycoside (a kind of natural anthocyanins with glucose-lowering effect). The precision preparation technology of anthocyanins and the development of functional products based on the patent have been transformed and applied in enterprises, achieving remarkable social and economic benefits and boosting the development of big health industry.
