ACADEMICS

 

    BEFS is now consists of 2 departments (Department of Biosystems Engineering, Department of Food Science & Nutrition) and offers 2 undergraduate programs in Biosystems Engineering and Food Science & Engineering. Since established in 1999, BEFS has vigorously developed its disciplines and now it offers 10 MS and 12 Ph.D. programs in 12 second-level disciplines, among which Agricultural Mechanization is entitled with “Zhejiang Provincial Key Discipline”, “MOA Key Discipline” and “National Key Discipline”; Food Science is entitled with “Zhejiang Provincial Key Discipline” and “MOA Key Discipline”. The College has also set up 2 postdoctoral research stations.

 

    In September of 2012, Fuli Institute of Food Science established. In the same year, Qiushi Science Class in Food Safety & Nutrition started to enroll new students, which pioneered the new exploration on student cultivation mode. Since the“11th five-year plan”, 3 Ph.D. dissertations have been awarded “100 National Excellent Ph.D. Dissertations” and other 6 got nominations, 11 students won the ZJU highest honor Zhu Kezhen Scholarship.

 

    The College vigorously promotes the internationalization of teaching and broadens the international vision of students. The College has signed agreements on cooperative education and exchange programs for undergraduate students with a number of renowned Universities including Cornell University, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Purdue University, Michigan State University, Iowa State University and Kyoto University.

 

 

 


The Establishment of Fuli Institute of Food Science

The “student-oriented and multi-integrative” team training mode for graduate students won the first prize of 2014 National Teaching Achievement Award.
