The 6th Postgraduate Summer International Workshop was held Online

Due to the impact of COVID-9 pandemic, the 6th Postgraduate Summer International Workshop was held online. This Workshop was organized by Zhejiang University to promote academic exchange and cultural interaction with world-class universities and research institutions, which guide and stimulate students' enthusiasm for scientific research, help students understand research frontier dynamics, and expand students’ international horizons.
The 6th Postgraduate Summer International Workshop with the theme on ‘Sustainable Development of Global Food’ was held from August 26th to 28th, 2021. Through a series of online conferences, we had the opportunity to have face-to-face exchange with professors and scholars from all over the world and to promote cooperation with world-class universities and research institutions.
Professor PJ Cullen of the University of Sydney gave a keynote report on ‘Gas-plasma for food sustainability’. He introduced the application of plasma in food, focusing on the study of the mechanism of plasma technology in food preservation, that is, controlling microorganisms, retaining nutrition, and analyzing potential toxicity.
Professor Cheng Junhu from South China University of Technology, Professor Yan Wenjing from Nanjing Agricultural University, Dr. Liao Xinyu, postdoctoral fellow at Zhejiang University, Professors Eric Sanjaya, Renwu Zhou, and Rusen Zhou from the University of Sydney also gave reports on the direction of their respective research departments. Both sides expressed their hope to strengthen the cooperation in the field of food science and nutrition in the future.
