The research by Prof. Xie Lijuan's team of our college “Terahertz endoscope suitable for intestinal tract lesion inspection and inspection method thereof” was granted the U.S. patent authorization (US patent No.: US10568494 B2, authorization date: February 25, 2020).

The invention disclosed a terahertz endoscope suitable for intestinal tract lesion inspection and an inspection method. The terahertz endoscope includes a combined tube body inserted into an intestinal tract, a terahertz signal enhancement module, a terahertz inspection module, and a real-time imaging module.

The terahertz endoscope and inspection method could be used for accurate inspection of intestinal of intestinal tract lesions in early stage, thereby improving the inspection accuracy and sensitivity. The terahertz endoscope is capable of obtaining rich information, and has a compact structure, easy operation and wide applicability.
